Esta fue la canción que solían utilizar los Guns N' Roses para abrir sus conciertos, exceptuando en el Chinese Democracy Tour en el que fue reemplazada por "The eponimous song". Welcome to the jungle nos habla de L.A. (Los Ángeles), en donde muchos buscan la fama y lo entregan todo por ella. De acuerdo a la letra compuesta por AXL, si tienes el dinero y entregas todo de ti, puedes llegar alto (con drogas) y caer de rodillas perdiéndote en todo ello.

En este trabajo veremos un videoclip típico de los 80's, en él se presenta la banda interpretando la canción frente al público. En algunas escenas también se puede apreciar a Axl frente a algunos televisores viendo escenas poco alentadoras, haciendo alusión al caos que se puede encontrar "en la jungla".
